After viewing John’s Body Shop
web page, I decided to write a letter of recommendation for them to add to
their site. I have known the Siebergs since 1982 when I decided to get back
into the muscle car hobby by purchasing a 1970 Challenger T/A. After visiting
with John and seeing some of his work, I decided to let them repaint my T/A.
The work that was done was not only state of the art; it was done in a timely
fashion and well within the estimate given.
This T/A (which is pictured on the website) went on to
win over 300 trophies in the next several years, including 1st in
Class, Best Mopar, Best Paint and 6 Best of Shows. I can’t count how many of
John’s cards I passed out at shows when asked, “Who painted this car?” I
continued to have contact with the Sieberg family in quite a few ways over the
next few years including rebuilding the 340 6-pack engine John has in his
personal car. A couple of years ago, I purchased another Mopar muscle car, a
1971 Plymouth GTX 440 six-pack car. The car had been repainted once in it’s
lifetime and was not quite up to the standards that I wanted, so in January
the car was stripped to the bare shell and off to John’s it went.
When the car returned to my garage in April, the
results were fantastic and with the car now reassembled, I set out to tackle
the car show circuit once again. In the 7 shows that I attended this summer,
the car received 12 trophies including Best Mopar several times. All I can say
is that you won’t find a nicer, more knowledgeable family owned business to
have your work done. They have been accommodating from start to finish on all
my products and I would highly recommend John, Jeanette and Jeremy Sieberg and
their staff of John’s Body in Nicollet for all your restoration projects.

Letter 2:
As a car enthusiast all my life, I first became acquainted with John Sieberg's
restoration work by looking at cars he had painted and/or restored. My first
recollection is a 1964 Impala convertible that John had restored, and as I
viewed the fit & finish, attention to detail, gaps on doors, hood, and trunk,
and paint work I decided I would ask John to work on my 1970 Chevelle LS-5
hardtop. When I purchased the car, it had a frame off restoration, but not to
the quality standards I was looking for in a show car.
When John got the car, he did a front clip off, frame up
restoration, including engine compartment, interior, and trunk. The car was
completed in time for me to enter it in the annual Land O Lakes GTO Club
muscle car show held in Plymouth, MN the first weekend in August of 2003.
Although I competed against cars in the Chevelle class that were more rare as
well as several LS-6s, I took first place, and that was the first show I had
entered with the car. Winning that show put me in contention for the Winners
Circle judging in August of 2004, where winners in each class from the
previous year competed against each other for the best of the best. Prior to
that show, I had John do more detailing, and replace the Hurst shifter with
the correct Muncie shifter that actually came with the M-22 Rock Crusher
transmission in 1970. Out of 22 entrants on August 1st, 2004, my LS-5 took
second place, only 1/2 point from the first place winner, a 1961 Corvette
Roadster. The Chevelle scored a total of 98.5 points out of a possible 100
based on two judge's sheets. The other impressive thing to note is that day
John had three cars that won - a Cortez silver 1970 Chevelle won first place
in the Chevelle class, and a yellow 1966 Buick Skylark convertible won first
place in the Buick class (plus my Chevelle being at second place in the
Winners' Circle).
I had no fewer than 50 people ask me who did my paint
work. In talking to a guy who paints cars in the Twin Cities, he said on a
scale of 1 to 10, the paint on my car was an 11! I think that points to the
quality of the work John does on cars he restores.
John now has my 1965 Corvette Roadster 396c.i./425HP in
his shop and is doing a "detail" restoration, primarily on the engine
compartment and chassis. I have no doubt that after it is done, it will be
another first place winner. When John has that completed, he will be
detailing the engine bay and chassis for a 1972 Grand Prix SJ 455 c.i. that I
purchased new in 1972 and just bought back in August of 2004 after having sold
it over 22 years ago.
I have complete and total trust in John, his shop, his
work and his ethics. He does not take any shortcuts, explains fully what will
be done, and does as much research as necessary to make sure what is done is
done correctly. As an example, before John started work on my Corvette, he
read the entire NCRS Corvette Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide,
then had me come to his shop where he had a dozen or more pages of notes to
review before he started any work.
John will continue to do any and all of my restoration
work, whether it be a minor job or a full blown restoration. He is the best
and over the years has earned that reputation. When people from the west
coast and other parts of the country have John do their restorations, it
didn't just happen because they saw his name in the yellow pages. Word of
mouth is the best advertisement John's Body Shop has and that is based on the
final product John produces.
You may contact me at any time as a reference. Thank
you.

Letter 3:
I had the good fortune of meeting John & Jeanette Sieberg at the 2002 Mopar
Nationals.
I am the proud owner of a Panther Pink 1970 Dodge
Challenger R/T convertible, 440 6 pack car (one of one produced). The car was
built by Chrysler to showcase the new Challenger model at the 1970 auto show
in Chicago.
At the same time I was faced with finding a competent
restoration shop in New York, to handle such a detail restoration and was not
having much luck.
After speaking with John about this project, he showed me
one of his recent restorations, a beautiful black challenger Rallye on display
at the nationals. After viewing this car and appreciating his knowledge about
Mopars, I knew where my car was going to be restored.
In November 2002 I sent John a multi colored rolling
shell stuffed with parts, and in March of 2003, well within the estimated time
and price I received my car. The car was absolutely beautiful, perfect. The
body and paint were flawless.
Having only 3½ months to complete this car for the
Building T display for Chryslers at Carlisle in July, work with John
continued. John was very helpful with advice and found time to restore
various parts I sent him, helping me out of a jam numerous times.
My Challenger has since earned many awards, including
best in show and best Mopar.
Dealing with John, Jeanette and Jeremy was a positive
experience in every way. They are extremely talented, honest, knowledgeable
and friendly. I not only received a fine restoration, I made new friends as
well. I cannot thank them enough, and would highly recommend Johns Body
shop for quality restorations.
